ASG Students Simulate Business Roles
October 19, 2015 | ASG Student Spotlight
Many high school students have the belief that if they want to work in a business some day, they must be an accountant or financial officer. Although these are important positions, ASG Greenville seniors Caroline, Elaine, Mae, Mason and Y, along with their classmates, discovered that those roles are not their only options when working in a business. Americans for the Competitive Enterprise System (ACES), a non-profit organization from Erie, Pa, held a business simulation experience to Greenville High School seniors the week of October 19th, where they had the opportunity to discover where their true talents may lie within a business. From advertising and marketing to sales and IT, ASG students got a glimpse of the components of running a business.
Caroline was a member of the winning team and her persuasive sales pitch to potential customers, earned her four awards and a one hundred dollar prize. The students said that they learned time management and team building skills as well as the many elements that affect a business.
