Staying Safe: COVID-19
April 7th, 2021
American Scholar Group has been diligent about guarding our students’ health since the start of the global pandemic. We continue to be vigilant today.
As government agencies and new outlets began reporting on the seriousness of the disease and issuing guidelines:
- ASG locked down its dormitories. Only a very limited number of staff essential to the in-person operation of the dorms were allowed to visit and students were required to stay quarantined.
- Safety protocols were implemented at the dorm and at the office. Temperature checks were implemented and signs indicating symptoms of COVID-19, offering hand washing and sanitizing guidelines, and similar recommendations were posted in the dorms and at our headquarters. Surfaces at the dorm were routinely sanitized. Safety protocols were also imposed at our corporate headquarters, and our meetings switched to online formats.=
- ASG partner schools went virtual, allowing all students to work from home. ASG worked with our students and school partners to help manage the transition, which required a great deal of communication on a daily basis.
The student population that was present in the Spring of 2020 remained safe, and we are grateful that none of the students in our dorms contracted COVID-19. We had some students remain on virtual education from their home countries for this 2020-2021 school year, as well as students who came to learn in person. Our in person population has also been safe so far, and those old enough who wish to get the COVID-19 vaccine have already received their first shot!
For the 2021-2022 school year, our partner schools will be offering in person learning and we will continue to do everything we can to keep our students healthy.
