ASG Academic Advising: SAT Time for Juniors

It’s a new year! While many U.S. high school seniors are finishing their last round of university applications this time of year, ambitious 11th graders are starting to schedule the SAT (or ACT) for the spring and considering how to prepare for the exam. ASG advising understands how crucial it is for students to keep up with admissions preparation, so we are encouraging our Study in America students to get going.

To register for the SAT, students need to create an account at College Board, which also features a Big Future section where students can learn about majors and careers as well as search for the right U.S. school for their goals. We use the Big Future site throughout junior-year advising to help students explore and understand their options. To register for the ACT, students can go to ACT.org. Either way, make sure you are signing up for the closest test center to avoid an overly long ride to your test. ASG students should speak to an academic adviser to find out the closest test center before registering and to ask any questions about their exam.
