Prom Season Arrives in America
May 2nd, 2017 | American Traditions
All over America schools are celebrating the end of the school year with one great tradition, prom. Prom is a dance typically attended by 11th and 12th grade students. The event is one students talk about from the first day of school until the night of its arrival, and long after that as they reminisce on one of the most memorable nights of their high school careers. The dress code for the night is formal suits and gowns, many students look forward to shopping and bringing their own style to the dance floor. Many schools have traditional prom activities such as the crowning of a Prom King and Queen chosen by the student body, or a grand march where the attendees have the opportunity to show off their outfits in a runway style parade. Surrounded by friends and classmates the event marks the passage of time through school and the days ahead of them. While most students are stressed about the finality of school or impending college decisions this is one night where they can relax and have fun!
