Nature Hike Sparks Fun Student Competition
October 11, 2015 | ASG Outdoor Club
On Sunday October 11th, the ASG Outdoors club held its second event, a six mile hike along the Shenango River Trail in Mercer County, Pennsylvania. In addition to hiking on the towpath of the abandoned Erie Extension Canal, our students held a picnic and rock skipping competition on a sandbar in the Shenango River. The students had the opportunity to experience western Pennsylvania’s natural beauty, while learning elements of basic woods-craft, and testing their physical endurance. Most importantly, our nine young adventurers had fun while enjoying time with their friends in nature!
