Kim Le, an 11th Grade student at Mercer High School, has been accepted into the prestigious Korea Undergraduate/Graduate/High School Science Program (KUSP) hosted by the Center for Axion and Precision Physics Research (CAPP) of Korea’s Institute for Basic Science at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The Institute for Basic Science is a government-funded research institution dedicated to making scientific discoveries, while KAIST is consistently one of the top ranked universities in Asia. The rigorous 5-week KUSP program is designed to bring young researchers from all over the world together to engage in intensive physics research, while also learning about Korean culture. This year’s program participants will be focusing on researching dark matter and exploring the matter-antimatter asymmetry mystery. In addition to attending physics lectures and conducting original research, KUSP participants will have the opportunity to tour research laboratories throughout the Republic of Korea and to visit sites of cultural and historic significance. Kim Le, who plans to study astronomy in university, is very excited to attend the KUSP program this summer.
