ASG Student Displays Basketball Prowess
January 13th, 2017 | Student Spotlight
ASG student Marysia (Mary) Matuszewska recently became a local celebrity after the publication of an article in the Greenville Record-Argus detailing her basketball prowess. Matuszewska played on a club team in her native Poland for eight years. She has successfully transitioned to playing for her American high school team, the Greenville Lady Trojans, despite some minor rule changes between the two countries. Jennifer Fagley, Mary’s coach, describes her as “a very diverse player” who can often anticipate her opponents next move before it happens. While Mary has a mastery of basketball fundamentals that makes her a very adaptable player, her primary position of Shooting Guard makes her one of the team’s main point scorers. The American Scholar family is very proud of the athletic achievements of Mary and look forward to her future accomplishments. Join us in wishing Mary and the Greenville Lady Trojans luck in their upcoming game against the Wilmington Area School District on Friday, January 13th.
