ASG Honors Program Students Attend 1st Quarter Banquet
December 21st, 2017 | Events
On Monday, December 11th, 2017, American Scholar Group (ASG) Honors Program students attended a special dinner to recognize and celebrate their hard work during the first quarter of the school year. The meal consisted of prime rib, roasted potatoes, asparagus, soup, dinner rolls, and brownies for dessert. After the meal, students who earned top marks in all of their classes during the first quarter were recognized with certificates of achievement.
The ASG Honors Program encourages and rewards academic success, which is required for membership, and also promotes community service, leadership, and character. In addition to dinners such as this, honors students also have opportunities to tour top U.S. universities, attend special seminars, and live in honors housing.
The evening ended with talks from two Thiel College professors about the joint Leadership Program that the college is offering in partnership with American Scholar. This program offers 12 credits at the college and university level and encourages study, reflection, and action in lessons and values needed to take control of their future.
