ASG Gives Back to the Community
February 23rd, 2017 | Student Spotlight
Performing volunteer service to benefit a charitable cause is a core American value. In fact, many schools in the United States require their students to fulfill some form of community service to graduate. ASG hosted two volunteer events in February to allow our students to log hours for their schools’ community service requirements. On February 13th, a group of our students gathered to fill backpacks with non-perishable foods and school supplies for needy children. This week, on February 20th, another group of ASG students volunteered at the Good Sheppard Center in Greenville, PA, a local charitable organization. The students helped to move and organize the Good Sheppard’s inventory as the organization relocates to a new facility. In addition to helping our students to fulfill their graduation requirements, community service events like these provide a cultural immersion experience for our students while allowing them to build relationships with the local community.
