ASGI Awards International Students with $150,000 in Scholarships
January 19th, 2017 | Student Spotlight
The American Scholar Global Institute (ASGI) has recently awarded scholarships to ten of the twenty-three international students studying at ASG Partner schools. Six of these college students are former American Scholar Group (ASG) students who graduated from our program. Three students are ASG staff who are acquiring specialized degrees and certifications. The students studying through ASG come from diverse backgrounds, with eleven Chinese, four Malaysian, and eight Vietnamese nationals currently in college placement.
ASGI scholarships are awarded following completion of an application, with various criteria that applicants must meet. Scholarships are then awarded to students attending one of ASG’s partner schools. Each scholarship can be awarded for up to $16,000 in aid, with a current total of $150,000 awarded for the 2016-2017 school year. The American Scholar Group currently has ten partner schools: Allegheny College, Elmhurst College, Gannon University, La Roche College, Malone University, Point Park University, Thiel College, Westminster College, Youngstown State University, and Pittsburgh Technical College.
